Young, Early Visit in the Fog, undated
There was a time, long ago, that a barn like this was respected, built of hand-hewn beams, and expected to last forever. A family worked and lived on this farm, venturing to the local feedmill perhaps. Today, in our world-wide culture a historic barn is a symbol of yesteryear, of times forgotten. Today we might pause long enough to feel grateful that we are not living such a hard life. Next time you pass by a barn like this, stop in and experience the essence of the past. Look at the handcrafted beams, take note of the lingering smell of hay, and notice the calming effect of such a forgotten space.
Look around at James Young, Artist.
Thanks, Jay. Beautiful.
