Bob Weir, Rest in Peace
Bob Weir has passed.
"Only a River"...
The Grateful Dead are still one of the most over-rated bands of all-time.
24 December 2025
Gladden.
Weir, Christmas Eve, 1865
CHRISTMAS EVE TEN YEARS AGO
At midnight's hour the solemn sound,
The moaning swell
Hark, to the sound of that mystic bell,
Steals o'er my heart like a magic spell!
Tolls this bell upon my ear
A cloud of frosty light
So soft and clear,
This long December night—
A chant of praise,
For peaceful days.
Christmas Eve, watching the fire,
This dreary night, with visions bright;
Cheerful faces gladden my Christmas Eve
Upon a ghostly Winter's night.

Bob Weir, "Blue Mountain"
I drank at the Blue Goose Saloon
And I dance all night with the Mormon girls
Ride home, my way lit by the moon
And oh, here's a snake in the rainbow
And here is the balsam in boughs
And here are the ladders of light up to heaven
A blue mountain is all I need now
And I dance all night with the Mormon girls
Ride home, my way lit by the moon
And oh, here's a snake in the rainbow
And here is the balsam in boughs
And here are the ladders of light up to heaven
A blue mountain is all I need now

Bob Weir, "Only a River"
Oh, Shenandoah, I long to see you
Hey, hey, hey, you rolling river
Thank You, Jessica. It was a great summer.

Scaring the Children, "Two Djinn"
Night come sudden, dawn be soon
Bide my time by the dark of the moon
My strange heroes lead me on
But when I get there they'll be gone
Bide my time by the dark of the moon
My strange heroes lead me on
But when I get there they'll be gone
Thanks, Jess!

Bob Weir, "Blue Mountain"
Now I chummed up with Latico Gordon
I drank at the Blue Goose Saloon
And I dance all night with the Mormon girls
Ride home, my way lit by the moon

And here are the ladders of light up to heaven
