Newton's third law of motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means forces always come in pairs, and these action-reaction pairs act on different objects:
- KA
- BOOM
Something like that.
Besides Newton's Laws, when we launch fireworks, many other elements of physics are at work also, principles such as trajectories, explosions, color (caused by quantum mechanics), light, and, my favorite, shock waves.
I learned all of this from my good buddy Casey, who teaches sixth grade science. Casey's camera-shy so here's the closest thing to being in his classroom ...
