Simpler.
At age 60, Audrey Sutherland inflated a kayak and set out alone to explore the coast of Alaska. Paddling North details Ms. Sutherland's adventures and lets the reader learn from her keen observations and expertise on the water. She shares her recipes as well.

What makes you want to paddle your canoe, your six-foot canoe, by yourself, alone?
AS:
It’s so much simpler alone, you don’t have to worry about whether somebody is hungry, or tired, or angry, or whatever. You just go alone, it’s so much simpler that way. When you’re by yourself you can stop and look at something; learn a flower, watch an animal or a bird, or whatever it is.
