I just walked outside and the heavy air hit me.
Weighted. Damp. Really damp.
I came out to sit, drink tea, and listen.
But it's way too humid ... even the wood of the deck is wet and warm beneath my feet.
The stream trickles and down the road the old hound howls in the heat.
Then I see them ... fireflies!
Hundreds.
No, thousands.
Tempted to tally
But my eye wants to wander.
Trees fully filled
With their phosphorescent flickering.
Time twinkles away.
I wish you could see this.
Look.
