Threshold.

I have never wanted to write a poem, but only to read as many strong ones as I could apprehend. I think even as a child of nine or ten, I believed that there was a threshold that you had to cross in writing a poem, and if you weren't really worthy of it, then hungry demons would descend upon you and devour you forever. Therefore I have never written a poem.
