I showed portions of the John Adams series to my social studies classes and they loved it. One of my favorite memories of the experience is their response to the Continental Congress debates over the issue of independence. After watching it, throughout the rest of the year, anytime the word "colonies" was mentioned, they would interrupt in unison, "STATES!"
