Redmond's passion and skill as a broadcaster hasn't been lost on anyone. He is loved in Detroit for his astute commentary and analytical eye and his wonderful "Mickeyisms" like "bingo-bango" and "Katie, bar the door."

The NHL Broadcasters' Association will present Redmond with the prestigious Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster during next week's Hockey Hall of Fame induction activities in Toronto.
