Mac.

Thirty years ago today John McEnroe defeated Bjorn Borg to win his first Wimbledon title.

I grew up in the era of tennis that saw McEnroe, Connors, Lendl, Borg, Becker, Wilander, Kriek, Edberg, and Cash at the top of their game. In that kingdom of incredible players, the magician, McEnroe, was king. He wasn't as powerful as Lendl or Becker, or as graceful as Borg or Wilander. The amazing part of his game was his touch which allowed him other-worldly shot-making ability. Mac was a magician and his racquet was his wand.
