Lost.

Two sailors were lost in the 103rd Chicago-Mackinac Race.


Shawn O’Neill, skipper of Eagle, a Sidney 38, was east of Beaver Island when the storm hit around midnight. He clocked winds of 60 knots, which ripped the main sail as the crew took it down.

“It was pretty much all hell broke loose,” said O’Neill, past chairman of the race. “When it hit, it hit with a vengence.”
